Weekend Five - three red cards, but Lancaster sit at top with four points!
Lancaster had one game this weekend that would count towards the league. Now Lancaster won that game Lancaster sit at the top of the league with a four point league. But in second place are Rotherham who have played an extra game. Most of the drama in Lancaster's comfortable 13-9 victory over Rotherham happened in the final quarter, when both the Lancaster two coaches and player colin Burgess were red-carded, for pointing out that a Rotherham player chucked the ball away. Also Rotherham's Richard Leighton was excluded for a brutality offence against lancaster player Chris Hartley. Scott Carpenter led the Lancaster scorers with six and there were two apiece for Alex Parsonage, Tom Curwen, Colin Burgess and Ciaran James. The biggest shock of the weekend has to be Bristol defeat against Manchester, final score Manchester 11 Bristol 1 (that is not a misprint!)

Semi Finals for Lancaster City under 16's
The final game for Lancaster under 16's was against Warrington at Salt Ayre, Lancaster beat Warrington 12 - 7 to finish top of their table. Lancaster now will have either Carlisle or Bolton School in the semi Final held late October (subject to change). This year the team had a couple of changes, Ron Winn gave opportunity to nearly appointed Great Britain 93 & 94 Goalkeeper coach Zak Sly to coach the games. Alongside Zak, CSP Lancashire boys Coach Gary Ellwood stepped in to be the assistant coach with Mike Heskith supporting them both on the bench & table. Zak brought in quite a few younger players this year, Sam Edwards, Ben Walker and Scott Sharpe to experience some game play.
